How to use Celkeran 5mg Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take Celkeran 5mg Tablet empty stomach (1 hour before food or 2 hours after food).
How Celkeran 5mg Tablet works
chlorambucil is an anti-cancer medication. It works by damaging the genetic material (DNA) of the cancer cells and stops their growth and multiplication.
Side effects of Celkeran 5mg Tablet
- Mouth ulcer
- Decreased blood cells (red cells, white cells, and platelets)
- Bone-marrow suppression
- Decreased white blood cell count
- Decreased white blood cell count (neutrophils)
If you miss a dose of Chlorambucil, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Pregnancy : Celkeran 5mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation : Celkeran 5mg Tablet is usafe to use during lactation. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby, or the mother is suffering from a condition in which breast feeding is not advisable.
Driving : It is not known whether Celkeran 5mg Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney : Celkeran 5mg should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Celkeran 5mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Careful monitoring by a doctor is important as kidney disease patients are at an increased risk of bone marrow depression and inflammation and infections of urinary bladder while taking this medicine.
Liver : There is limited information available on the use of Celkeran 5mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
