What is Gemita 1400mg Injection?
Gemita 1400mg Injection is an anticancer chemotherapy drug. This includes treatment for ovarian cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, bladder cancer, pancreatic cancer and soft tissue sarcoma. It is also sold under the trade name of Gemzar. Gemita 1400mg Injection can also be used in combination with other medications as supervised by your doctor. It is an antimetabolite drug. Gemita 1400mg Injection is only injected into your vein by IV injection or IV infusion.

- Pancreatic Cancer
Gemita 1400mg Injection is used along with other medications in the treatment of pancreatic cancer.
- Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

How to use Gemita Injection
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
How Gemita Injection works
Gemita 1400mg/87.5mg Injection is a combination of two medicines: Gemcitabine and Mannitol. gemcitabine how it works Gemcitabine interferes with the growth of DNA and RNA of the cancer cells by substituting their building blocks. It prevents the cancer cells from growing and multiplying. Mannitol is an inert substance with high osmotic pressure. It draws water into the kidney, which in turn increases the amount of urine production. Mannitol is also used to lower the pressure inside the eye or swelling around the brain.

- Low WBC and Platelet count
- Pale skin
- Nausea and Vomiting
- Weakness of arms, hands, legs or feet
- Hair loss or thinning of the hair
- Skin rash
- Swelling and redness at the injection site
- Missed Dose
It is advised not to miss any dose. If you missed any dose, you should contact your doctor immediately.
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.
Warnings for special population
Pregnancy – This medicine is not recommended for pregnant women.
Breast-feeding – This medicine is not recommended in breastfeeding women.
Liver injury – This medicine may cause liver injury and causes death. The liver function parameters need to be assessed before starting the treatment. The treatment should be discontinued if any signs and symptoms of liver injury appear.
Kidney injury – This medicine may cause Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) which is a serious condition that causes fatalities. The kidney function parameters need to be assessed before starting the treatment. The gemcitabine price treatment should be discontinued if any signs and symptoms of kidney injury appear.
Lung toxicity – This medicine may cause severe lung injuries like pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary interstitial infiltrates. Any symptoms of breathing difficulty and signs of lung impairment should be informed to the doctor. The treatment should be discontinued if any symptoms appear.
